So I'm in the driveway putting in some new vacuum hose in the '96.
My daughter pulls in. "Hi Dad. The reason I'm late is that another car hit me."

Seems she hit the brakes to avoid some animal and the Suby Ion behind her nailed her fair and square. The bumper on her '95 9K was scratched and there is a little deformation in the spare tire well so the trunk floor panel doesn't latch properly. The hatch and rear doors work fine, although the hatch to body alignment is slightly out of square.

The Suby has a bashed front bumper, buckled hood and assorted small damaged parts, my daughter says. I guess it partially dove under the 9K's bumper. It was a rental, the driver from Ohio, and I've already talked to the driver's insurance company. They are arranging to fix the '95. Not that it really needs it done, at 12 years old and 148K miles. Would rather have the cash and not worry about the car.

That is why, I explained to my kid, we have Saabs.
