1998 CSE stereo information

greetings all,
tomorrow night i'm taking possession of a low-mileage CSE, and looking forward very much to driving this car after 20 years plus of driving C900 3-doors.
the stock stereo in this car is a harman-kardon. the radio/cassette sits in the center portion of the dash, and a single-disc cd player below. can you guys tell me if these units were made by alpine? clarion?
the clarion systems that i know from the 900s were pretty underwhelming, and i have always replaced them. in the case of this 9000, i am particularly pleased that the new car can play cassettes as well as cds, since i have several hundred jazz cassettes that i can now use. (i often drive 2 or 3 hours at a stretch.)
my thought is to clean the cassette deck thoroughly and hope that it won't eat tapes. (as a precaution, i'll probably use only tapes that i can re-make from LPs or CDs, in case the deck eats them.)
i guess the main thing i'm curious about is, if i am content with the stock sound as it came from the factory in this last year of production, do the cassette deck and cd player operate reasonably reliably? i am far more interested in just plain ol' push-play-and-forget-about-it than i am in having thunderous subwoofers or playing stereo at high volumes.
i seem to remember a company that advertises here on saabnet that will rebuild a radio if you choose to keep it dead stock. who is that?
thanks for any advice and i'm sure you'll be seeing me around as questions arise.
