Thanks, Chaz. Appreciate that!
I had filed the stud so it had a couple of flat sides, then tried a wrench but couldn't get the leverage. Still not sure I can get in with a "big enough" screwdriver to give me leverage, because this puppy is so tight, but it's worth a shot.
If it works it's also a lot better than taking it to my indy. Which would be a little embarrassing. Have only done something on my own that I had to take to a real tech twice in about 35 years of wrenching. I've broken stuff, but have always recovered.
If the Dremel and screwdriver trick doesn't do it, maybe I'll go invest in a right angle drill. It's something I've wanted and this ain't a bad excuse!
What I SHOULD have tried first, was double nutting the stud, but didn't think it would work. Damn hindsight. I'd have been no worse off
But as an aside, I have no idea why anyone would take the throttle body off to do the t-stat, as some on TSN have suggested. Far harder than just undoing a few hoses.
