Well, I took it to a shop to have the pressures checked. I learned that I have to have the compressor ON when checking the low side pressure. I got to watch the whole process. The initial pressures were 3psi low and 100psi high. I was told that there is no way to tell if it was full via pressure. More of knowing AC system art.
So. Questions for you AC experts.
Why would I lose freon? I had them check for leaks. Dye was already present in the system. They used a UV Light and looked around. They used an electronic sniffer and looked around. Didn't find any. I was watching the whole process.
How could it be low? It worked last year when I bought the car. Could it have been low then and I just lost more? Does it disappear via osmosis? Is there a leak that I just haven't found?
Also,
Why would the pressure jump to 40 PSI on the low when the compressor is off when the system is low on freon?
