Removing center muffler

Hi all,
My center muffler is shot, and further the pipe from the center muffler to the rear muffler has rusted through. I'd like to take the center muffler out and replace it with pipe. I've got two questions about this:
1. I know the turbo dampens a lot of the noise coming from an engine, is this true for the LPT in a CS?
2. What exactly should I say to the guys ar the muffler shop? "Yank out the center muffler and replace it with pipe"?
Also, if anyone has a recommendation for a muffler shop in Lawrence, KS it would be appreciated.
Thanks
Alex
