Yes it would overfill it, but you need a fluid change anyway.
Many like Lucas - but Lubegard Red works similarly and is the only additive that is Saab approved (at least that what's Ericson's says) - it's available at NAPA.
But you should change your fluid anyway. Straightforward DIY.
Do it about every 15k now that you're getting high mileage.
I use Mobil 1 ATF, others swear by Amsoil.
But a change should be done. Go high quality on fluids - I recommend synthetic.
How to do this:
You have a drain bolt, so
1) Drain it as much as possible, replace same amount with new fluid,
2) Drive for a day or two, and then do it again,
3) and a third time.
By this time you have changed out the majority of the fluid, only some gets drained each time. BTW - drain when fluid is cold, that stuff gets HOT.
Add the supplement after the third drain, then fill.
Comments:
1) You'll probably notice an improvement with new fluid, but the additive still helps.
2) Change your ATF filter while you're at it, don't forget to get a new gasket.
3) Make sure you have a funnel that fits your fill tube, otherwise it's a pain.
If you have a ZF, it'll say so on a plate on top of the case. I think you should have one, but that elec shifter thingee seems odd. ZF's don't have them. (I'm thinking you got a heads up from someone experienced, but not about Saabs. I thought all 9k AT's were ZFs.)
After this, if you still aren't happy with the shifting, check your trans. If it's a ZF, new A spring can help. Think about it after new fluids.
It's easy and cheap. Ask then or just order it from Ericson's - it comes with instructions.
Process above took my AT from seemingly near death to reliable for the last two years. YMMV.
Don't accelerate hard during shift cycle to help preserve what you've got
