I'm assuming you have a proper boot - not one of those repair jobs that has to be "sewn" on with all sorts of little bolts.
Check and see if it's squeezing by the clamps on the CV boot, and that the clamps are seated squarely.
Especially if it is close to one end or the other.
If not, check grease. If clean, add an appropriate amount, close it up, clean it up and see if you're done with a little drive.
On the other hand, those things spin so the hole might be smaller than you expect. Try to chase it to the greasiest spot and look around there. If it's inside a fold it'll be greasy in that interior fold. If not particularly greasy in any fold, look closely at the edge of the folds.
I'd take this as good luck if you find it. If it's that small you probably haven't polluted the CV yet, and a good cleaning, regreasing and new boot will probably do it.
All in all - if I could eliminate any other source for the grease, I'd just plan on replacing the boot and hoping the grease inside isn't brown when I open it up.
