Twin Turbo is a waste of time and money Posted by AdamB [Email] (#3) [Profile/Gallery] (more from AdamB) on Tue, 23 Sep 2008 15:40:41 In Reply to: Twin Turbo, Gary, Tue, 23 Sep 2008 13:51:16 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
You can get much more power more easily with just a single large turbo. It's not without reason that all the 1000+ HP Toyota Supras are running single turbos. I even have a friend who is building a ~1500 hp drag monster using a single GT47R and a BMW 3.6L engine.
So, how much power do you need? With a Garrett GT3071, proper downpipe and exhaust, bigger injectors, high output fuel pump, better intercooler, 3 bar map-sensor and a remapped ECU and you could have 450 HP...
More than one turbo on a 4 cylinder car is just a waste of money. Too much extra plumbing and fabrication cost without any real benefit.
