I took apart the ignition switch, which may or may no have been my entire problem after all, i'll never know... it could have been or the car could have just been frozen...
but i removed wire 50 from the multi-wire ignition switch connector and kept it aside, so that I can make a push button starter for the car and just turn the key to the on position... and not rely on the ignition switch, perhaps one day i'll replace the switch but this works for me. anyways.
I had pushed the car into my garage, which isn't heated, but better than outside, and let it sit overnight and all day.
Temps were around 25-30, so less frozen than the night it wouldn't start
In sitting all this time nothing much had leaked at all.
Used a wire from the battery positive to start the car with the wire from pin 50 and the car started right away. NO hesitation at all. No clunking, perfect...
No fluid was leaking underneath the car for 30 minutes as the engine ran and sounded fine.
We checked all the fluid levels again. The trans was a little low.
Poured in a bottle of Redline MT-90 i had sitting around...
..and it leaked out through the bell housing of the tranny as fast as i could pour it in.
This is probably unrelated to the starting issue, i would think, but...
Now what...
I guess if i hadn't had to mess around with the starting issue, i may not have caught that tranny leak in time? that's the only positive thing i can think of to say about this...
what is leaking exactly? anyone? bueller?
