I'm rather depressed. My mechanic just threw in the towel on my 1994 Saab 9000 CSE. I would be less upset had I not replaced the exhaust, DI cassette, CV boots, breaks, battery and various other stuff over the past six months, amounting to almost $3000.
In fact, my car just spent a full month at the mechanic, in part due to an illness in the mechanic's family. Less than a week after getting it back, I went to start the car in the grocery store parking lot. I started just fine, ran for about 10 seconds and quit. It cranks normally, it just doesn't fire.
The fuel pump is operating, there is current going to the DI cassette, which was replaced a few months back. The mechanic checked the CPS on my suggestion. He has never worked on a Saab, and said he cannot find the ignition wiring diagram on Alldata. He says without this he's operating blind.
I am 2.5 hours away from the nearest Saab dealership, and 7 hours from a Saab mechanic. Any ideas on what else he should be diagnosing or where I could at least get a schematic for this car? Thank you.
