thank you for the response i found a haines write up. I will remove the lower bolts of the strut and the the streeing ball joint. this should allow me to separate the half shaft at the bearing. at this point i hope the inner shaft will slide out of the bearing carrier other wise I will take everything up to the tranny out as a unit. I quess i have to drain the tranny? Drill out the old bolts on the work bench and reinstall the drive line.Do you know which years use that bolt? i have to find a replacement. WhenI'm done I won't have much to use as a guide. If all goes well with the head gasket replacement which I'm in the middle of and the engine has been seriously harmed by the coolant/oil sludge I plan the swap out the rear axle and at that point attack the rust around rear passenger wheel well. If i remenber correctly you worked on this area. this car has no accident damage but does have cancer. so any input you have would be greatly appreciated thanks again David
