Oil Pan Issues (long?) Posted by KenManiac [Email] (#392) [Profile/Gallery] (more from KenManiac) on Mon, 29 Jun 2009 19:41:01 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Discovered today that my beloved 94 9000 Aero has a cracked oil pan. The boss that attaches to the trans snapped and now it leaks when oil splashes against it (while running, and moreso when turning to the right)
I know it needs to be changed, I also know this is not the first time in the world this has happened. What's weird is that I changed my trans 3 years ago, and AFAIK this just happened today.
My questions, for someone kind enough to answer them, are about the procedure. It looks pretty easy once the exhaust is out of the way. Any surprises?
Also, I know the heads are different from 92 1/2, are the oil pans different too? Will any 2.3 pan fit or does it need o be late 9000, etc.
Lastly, anyone have an extra one?
Thanks. I will be searching about this, just wanted to see if anyone did it recently enough to still be fresh.
