1996 9000CSE 125,000 miles.
Driving along at about 40mph, A/C on low. All at once vaporized anti- freeze is bursting out of what seemed like all of the vents, windows instantly fogged over. Fortunately I knew that there was no one behind or next to me for at least two blocks so I slowed quickly, rolled down the window, stuck my head out and pulled into a parking lot all within about 30 seconds and 50 yards. There was no coolant trail on the ground until about the last 10 feet, but a pretty good size puddle developed once it was sitting. There is coolant on the front passenger side floor carpet.
So is this just a heater core blowout? Or likely worse? The temp guage did run up to H but not for more than 10 seconds or so before it was shut down. Had it towed to an Indy here in Denver, so they should be calling in the morning. I'd really appreciate alll input on what most likely happened, and what additional damage there may be. Water Pump and hoses were new just last week.es looked fine after the fact. Serpentine belt was intact.
Thanks
