tml, true test of clutch wear is to slot it into 4th gear.handbrake on.right foot heal toe gas and brake pedals to 2000rpm.release clutch pedal. car should stall at once.if it runs away or slips before stalling you need a clutch. now when you push the clutch pedal to the floor you have just disengaged the clutch.the slave has pushed the throw out bearing into contact w/the pressure plate-inverting the fingers-allowing the clurch disc to "freewheel".trans is now discoupled from the engine.-shift-now as you let out the clutch pedal the new disc is thicker than a "thin" old one so the clutch should grab "low". burt.
