and it will be much easier before it gets rusted into place. With an air-powered wrench it will take 10 seconds.
DIY: If you are lucky, just loosening/removing/replacing the nut will do the trick - if not, you may need to hold the shaft of the shock with a small wrench across the flats on the shaft. How tight: pretty tight (no real idea, but know that the rubber will compress and you don't want a loose shock banging around) - perhaps there is a torque spec somewhwere.
