It appears to be the brake binding. There are no scrape marks on anything. I went out and looked at it at work, and the outboard pad is sitting away from the rotor, which is not right. The brake hose looks good (stainless steel), although I know I did stress the brake hose accidentally a couple of times while trying to install the new driveshaft. Now, when I'm turning either direction, even just a half turn of the wheel, the rubbing noise (metal on metal) occurs, and the car becomes difficult to move - takes a little power. It's like that brake is binding. Could damage to the brake hose cause this? Maybe internal damage? ABS light is off now.

On another front, my front oil seal at the oil pump is leaking. Good thing I ordered a spare. I think I pounded it in too hard. I could have sworn the previous seal was in deeper than I could get this one. Sigh. The car is supposed to be driven to Canada in four days.
