... Sensor test. Using Ari's 'no-start' checklist on my son's '97 CSE [which did have a pending code of CPS - P0335, I think].
On step 4, when the jumper between pin 6 and 10 should 'light up' during the starter crank time: should the light come on steady and stay on or just come on momentarily and go out? The checklist says "Does it light up?" - well, yeah for just a second.
His car died yesterday afternoon, running rough for a couple of minutes prior to him stopping. It then would not restart. Cranks forever; no light off.
Main relay is ok; fuel pump relay seems to work [I can hear the pump running for a few seconds], fuses are ok, and I tried swapping a used DI cassette [before I got it in the garage and pulled the pending code]. Want to be sure it's a CPS before I order one for him; I'm about 95% sure w/ all these symptoms but the momentary light between pin 6 and 10 is bugging me.
