No mechanic wants to touch my Aero

See below brake line discussion for more info.
I've brought my 9000 to several area mechanics, but no one seems up to the task of repairing my brake lines. I need new fittings at the ends of the hard lines (at least in the front passenger side, the dealer sheared the nut off its threads). They are rusted/seized in place. Trying to replace my flex hoses with stainless lines before the winter (they look suspicious).
The idea was to cut the hard line just above the fitting, flare the existing line, and install a new fitting that would thread into the stainless flex hoses. I don't see why I'm scaring away all of Iowa City's repair shops, it really doesn't seem that difficult to me.
Are they correct in their fears or am I crazy?
So should I order the OE Saab hard lines and run new ones all the way to the master cylinder (pain in the butt I think)? This is my final option. How hard is it to do this (especially routing a 6 foot hose around the engine from the master to the front pass. wheel well)???
Any input or suggestions are welcome, thanks!
