Been a while since I had to do one on a Saab, But it's no different on most any engine. My Indie lent me his OEM Saab seal driver explaining that he rarely if ever used the thing, preferring a small block of wood and a hammer. He was right, wood and hammer was simplest and gave good control as it was easy to watch movement/progress. The seal lip should not 'turn' if you slather lots of Lube on the shaft and fill up the lips of the seal with lube prior to install.
Go slowly, there is NO rush. G'luck.
