Glad to help you. I saw and responded to your posts on the General BB, too.
I don't mean the 9-5 or the OG 9-3 aren't good cars. A lot of this is personal taste. They are really nice pieces. And there's personal taste, too. My daughter, who drives the 9-3, likes it better than the 9-5 and the 9K. And she didn't really want a Saab at all for her first car, despite having learned to drive on the 9K and 9-5. Now she loves it and even her friends think its cool. My wife likes her 9-5 wagon better than she does my 9K (thinks the seats are better), and prefers it over the 9-3. My other daughter who has a '95 9K CS likes hers a lot, but admits the 9-5 is pretty nice. shes' sorta "meh" on the OG 9-3.
The problem is that Saab didn't make a real replacement for it. The 9-5 sedan, if it had a hatch, would be reasonably close, but there's no denying the big hatch on the 9K is a lot of the appeal.
The 9K and 9-5 feel different on the road. Both are fine and I'm happy in either one, but the 9K has a certain "je ne sais quoi" that's kinda hard to define. On all roads in even the worst weather it just feels right.
