The factory original balljoint has a circlip or E-clip securing the shaft in place - no way it can fall out like what "wmtunate" is reporting about his Febi/Bilstein part; the Moog part does not have this feature.
As I recall from when I first replaced my balljoints (car had >110K miles at the time), the clip pries out easily with a small screwdriver or diagonal cutter. Then you can wail on it with a picklefork, or if you have any idea that you might actually possibly be inclined to reuse the worn-out 15-year-old part again, you can carefully remove it with a proper balljoint removal tool (I have both, one works more efficiently than the other).
