...sooo, heard a very loud screeching noise, stethescope said it was coming down low in the block right around the water pump inlet so took off serp belt, noise still there. took off valve cover and looked down yonder and yep, teeth are nice and rounded little bumps. At least it didn't break!
So I will be doing it with head and oil pan on, read post about "freezing" the cover won't know the condition of shaft teeth until I'm in there but anything else? I don't think I need to replace ALL of the rubbing blocks but are there a couple you all would rate as higher priority/wear faster than the others? I already have the valve cover timing chain block but that's it.
