Try this.
Get either a meter or one of those cool circuit voltage checkers, the one with a bulb inside the plastic body and a pointy probe and a ground cable. This is let than $10 for either and a great investment.
Test across the two terminals on the battery (observe polarity if you have a meter) to see if you have voltage. If not you have a dead battery.
At this point you should have power (either battery tests good or you replaced it) and if you don't have power inside the car then either have a bad ground, bad positive cable, or something even more exciting.
So,
Go back to the battery and put the probe on the positive post, put the clip side on the negative post, confirm voltage, now MOVE the clip side from the negative post to some bare metal, or the engine, you may have to make an *extension* of some wire to get to a good ground. If you don't get power then you have bad ground from the battery to where it attachs to the car. Either the attachment or the cable has an internal issue. Investigate and repair or replace.
Now.
go inside the car, no key needed, and pull the brights turn signal and see if the headlights go on. If they come on hold them on and hit the brake pedal and hold it, then open the drivers door. you are putting a very minor load on the battery and the headlights should NOT dim, if they do your battery needs to be replaced.
Now you should have internal voltage on things like lights. If you don't then either the positive cable or it's small tributary is an issue. Chase that down and see what is what.
I should have started by asking, have to removed the clamps from the batter and cleaned the battery posts and the inside of the clamps??? I've seen the copper sulfate grow to a point where it just took one more sliver of growth and it insulated the post from the inside of the clamp. So make sure they are clean and then coat the outside of them with petrolum jelly, thick grease, or get the spray can of coating stuff.
Also, is your alternator charging? the little battery icon in the idiot light section should come on when you turn the key, and go off after the car starts. You will also get a nice 13.5 - 14.1 volt reading on the info display.
If you do the above let us know how it goes.
