This updates the string started on Jan 3rd. The original, with so many responses, has become too heavy. Of course, a heart-felt thanks is in order.
Removed the wheel liners and came to the leak face-to-face. It is from the center of the Power Steering Pump. It leaks, without the engine running, at the steady rate of one drop every two seconds.
Am ordering a used pump. It appears that the best I could do is $40 plus shipping. I guess the days of $25 each, mentioned by Yaofeng, is long gone.
Here are some notes on the impending work.
1. There appears to be enough room working through the wheel well with the liners removed, enough room to work around the pulley.
2. There appears to be no need to remove the back part of the liner. Which is the more difficult one to remove, entailing the removal of the molding under the front door. I think Saab goofed here, tying too many unrelated pieces together.
