I've had a 94 and 96. The 96 having the telescoping steering wheel... Its nothing special. The mechanism for holding the wheel where you want it sucks. If you brake hard at all, the force of your arms going forward will push the steering wheel back towards the dash. Seems dangerous. Also kind of embarrasing if you have a passenger. I just leave mine all the way forward. I'm 6'7" so I know what you mean about leg room. On the other hand, for my 94 (before I sold it) I fabricated a really simple adapter for the seat, so that it positioned the entire assembly 8" back. It was truly amazing how comfortable that was. I could actually put the seat back so far that I couldn't touch the pedals with my feet. Didn't actually drive it like that obviously. I haven't made that conversion on my 96 yet. It only cost about $15 in steel + a drill bit and strong bolts.
