My local indy told me some things to look for on an Outback/Legacy wagon and I may see a few cars this weekend. The crapshoot is that the car would be a big unknown and if something breaks she's a long way away. She needs to learn how to deal with this stuff, and that's fine. She can do that.
But she emailed on this today about how she loves her old 9K. But that's because she is not the primary mechanic on it and doesn't see the bigger picture of supporting a 15 year old car. She can do basic stuff, like tune-ups and oil changes, but not the next level of stuff like brakes, etc.
This will play out over the next few weeks. Will keep ya'll in the loop and please keep the ideas and thoughts coming. I'm just trying to manage the money side and do what is better long term. There are times when a lease does make sense for this.
