I think you'd enjoy it much more as a weekend car. The 9000 came out in '86 so a lot of the car is early '80's technology. I was selling Saabs at the time and it was a very complicated car compared (their first attempt at that level of sophistication) to the C900 (which wasn't exactly considered simple either). When the NG900 came out it started with a clean slate and they had learned a lot from the 9000. As an example it had an Aisen automatic that's been totally bullet proof and it was carried on to the 9-3 and 9-5. Saab just plain got better at building cars in the years after the 9000.
