I have two '88 9000T's and upgrade turbo's for a living so I should be able to give you a pretty good answer! I don't know anything
about mjmturbos however one of the best turbo shops on the east coast is in Florida somewhat closer to you than I am while I'm still
here in California. Remember that your car uses the old WWII technology T3 Garrett turbo which has a terribly inefficient turbine
wheel. The one used in your T3 has way more exducer blade clearance than what's ideal! I have new Garrett turbine wheels with the
right exducer diameter but that really runs the cost up so I use one from a different T3 application that has an even better diameter
(minimum safe clearance) and a larger major diameter which helps both top end power and spool up as well. Also your turbine housing
is a .48 A/R which is alright for a real mild upgrade however a .63 A/R is best but it does hurt your spool up some. If you had an
'88 C-900T I'd just recommend going to a TE05 Mitsubishi manufactured turbo with a sensible upgrade but fitting one to your down
pipe would take some doing plus their A/R is only a .41 A/R (6CM2) however their more modern design somewhat makes up for it. I
may try one in one of my 9000's to make sure the .41 A/R doesn't hurt my top end too much. Dave at SPG9 turbo's
