'93 Aero - 5-speed, 166k mi.
Been noticing lately that when I start the car cold I get a hesitation as I let out the clutch in first, especially on a hill (which unfortunately describes my driveway...)
Car starts fine, idles smoothly, revs freely in neutral, no smoke, no smells, plugs are the spec NGKs and have no more than 1500 miles on them (which for me is about a year with this car,) boosts fine, etc.
Basically as I rev and release the clutch the car starts to move, then has a massive hesitation (almost like a stall,) release clutch and foot on brake (to avoid rolling back into the fence at the bottom of the driveway/ hill) and it goes back to idle fine, feather the clutch a bit more / ride it more than I like and I am out of the driveway and on my way - runs fine from there (although sometimes on-throttle after the first 1-2 shift heading down the road can be a bit abrupt, but only the first time.) When warm doing the same drill I don't experience this routine. If the car is cold and I am not starting with the driveway hill, I really don't notice the same behavior, except possibly a bit of abrubtness on shifting from 1-2 that first time.
Any thoughts?
I have thought maybe DI Cassette? This is a TCS car - could it be TCS acting flaky when cold? (no other TCS issues ever experienced though.) Other ideas?
