1) Build Spec 4/5 motor (Techlectric saw this at my house red 94 Aero)
2) race clutch
3) drive it like you stole it
4) wreck transmission
5) repair/replace transmission
6) go to 3
My understanding is that most rebuilds will not replace items that have minor wear (gears), it's extremely expensive to do that, rather they will do seals and bearings and parts that are obviously broken or have excessive wear.
As to speeding up and using a transmission with "lower" ratios, are you talking about the "Aero" that wasn't really an Aero but had the Gray center Wheels that were a cross between SPG and Super Aero wheels? Nice Wheels came on the 1992 (maybe others idk) but that year has the "long" block engine and it's transmission will not bolt onto the 1994- models where the "Real" Aero with Super Aero wheels and the seats and all that and the "short" block is. But if you know something about this let me know! I have a pair of 1992 9000CDT autos and am parting one down to the shell (keeping one), and I also have a 1996 9000Aero Auto. Been researching to see if that Auto can spare the 1996 as well as the 1992. That would be nice if there is just a bell housing or mating widget to swap...
