It's a Saab dealership doing the inspection, so I won't be able to put that past them. I guess I could try taking it somewhere else, and hope they aren't aware of that feature on the car, but that would mean paying for the inspection again, without a guarantee they won't nit-pick the same thing, or something different. Likewise, I'm sure a jury-rigged license plate light will probably not meet the standard for one reason or another. Upon reflection, I'm not sure what the part is that they're quoting me $600 for. There are two lenses, and wiring connectors for each one, but I can't see those being that much money, and they implied that it was a single part.
