I think most brake fluids are synthetic, so that by itself shouldn't be cause for concern.
Brake fluid is either glycol-ether based (DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1) or silicone-based (DOT 5). The two types are not interchangeable, and our cars use the glycol-ether DOT 3/4/5.1 based brake fluids, so putting in DOT 5 silicone-based fluid would not be a good situation - and you'd need to fully flush/bleed that stuff out of there ASAP. However if you used DOT 3, DOT 4 or DOT 5.1 fluid (whether it said "synthetic" or not on the label), you should be fine.
A quick search at Autozone's web site only returned two synthetics - a Prestone DOT 3 and a Valvoline DOT 3/4. So I think you may be OK.
My personal preference is to use ATE's high performance DOT 4 fluids. They make one called "Super Blue" which is, yep, a blue color. They also make the same fluid in a gold color called "Typ 200" so what I do is alternate between the two at each change, so I can easily tell by the color change when I'm done bleeding a brake line.
Good luck!
