recirculation flap Posted by TODDMO [Email] (#493) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TODDMO) on Mon, 29 Nov 2010 19:36:25 In Reply to: Re: Who is familiar with, derf, Mon, 29 Nov 2010 09:33:05 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
On my 92, the flap is on the passenger side under the aqaurium cover. It is about the size of a letter envelope. There is a cover for your ventilation filter. Remove the cover (one screw?) & filter and you should see the flap. The motor is on the left side of the box containing the filter and flap. My motor is bad, so I jam my flap in the "recirc" position in the summer to aid the AC. Otherwise, I leave it open. In terms of flap positioning: Towards the passenger compartment is "fresh air". Parallel with the hood is "recirc".
I was unable (unwilling?) to troubleshoot the ACC (again) to determine if my motor was bad, or if the ACC was not sending a signal to the motor. If I have $100 burning a hole in my pocket, I might just buy a motor. For now, the caveman solution works for me.
