before the ECU aquires enough info to light up the engine. The ECU starts the ignition sequence with very little info, consequently it requires a few crank rotations to log the necessary inputs ie: spark timings and fuel delivery. The detailed description of what actually occurs would take a couple of pages of writing.. well worth reading if remotely curious,

It's a truly impressive system/design.
BUT it does take a few rotations to light up the engine. Nothing of any concern, unless it takes more than 5 /6 seconds of actual cranking time. Then start worrying about spark plugs and fuel system condition.
In direct comparison a 'normal' car with a far more primitive ECU will fire up instantly... if healthy.
