Issue with brake accumulator: Posted by TODDMO [Email] (#493) [Profile/Gallery] (more from TODDMO) on Mon, 6 Dec 2010 20:10:23 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
92 9kT. Recently, the anti-lock and brake fluid lights have been lighting when I press on the brake pedal. The pump will run for about a second, then shut down until I press the brakes again. I have very little pedal travel. Also, it's 20F here. When I first start the car, it can take upto a minute for the two lights to extinguish. From my searches, I can assume the accumulator is shot. Is there anything else in the system that would give similar issues? The resevoir does not lose any fluid.
Is a used accumulator a good bet? Is the pump a separate piece? I'm not familiar with this set-up on a 9000. What's the procedure for R and R? Thanks.
