esteban,
What you need to remove and replace the outer CV boot:
1 - jackstand
1 - 1/4 inch drive ratchet
1 - 8mm deep socket
1 - 3/8 inch drive ratchet
1 - 10 mm socket
1 - 1/2 inch drive ratchet
1 - 1/2 inch drive torque wrench
1 - 1/2 inch drive breaker bar about 24" long
1 - 18mm six point socket
1 - 17mm six point socket
1 - narrow tip standard screwdriver
1 - 3 leg gear puller
1 - hammer
1 - outer CV boot
1 - CV boot crimping tool
1 - CV joint grease
1 - roll paper towels
1 - box of nitrile gloves
Loosen the lugnuts, chock the opposite rear tire, and fit the jackstand under the subframe near the jacking point. Remove the wheel, wheel arch trim, and front half of inner fender liner. Use the screwdriver in the inner CV clamps to expand and detach them. Repeat for the outer CV boot clamps. Lift the brake hose support out of its retaining bracket. Remove the two strut bolts and nuts and pull the hub outwards to withdraw the axle from the inner driver pod. Fit a nitrile glove over the empty driver pod. Remove the circlip holding the tripod bearing. Be sure to identify the transmission side of the tripod bearing, (for reinstallation). Fit another nitrile glove over the exposed tripod bearing. Pull the tripod bearing off with your gear puller. Slide the inner and outer boot remnants off the inside end of the axle. Clean the outer bearing and repack with fresh grease. Turn the wide side outer edge of the new outer boot inside out then slide it onto the axle. This eases installation. Re-use the existing clamps. Clean the axle and inner driver pod. Re-grease the driver pod. Fit the inner boot onto the axle. Re-install the tripod bearing and circlip onto axle. Refit the assembly into the driver pod... The strut bolt threads face forward. Torque the strut nuts to 68lb. ft.
Happy Trails!
