I have not done it, but I have read that you can put Cobalt SS gears/diff in there for better power handling. It sounds like you're just trying to do it on the cheap, which I can relate to. AFAIK 94-98 Turbos all have the same tranny. If you happen to find a 94 NA cheap, I would advise against using it unless you like crappy gas mileage and a useless 1st gear.
