Lessee..fresh T5 valve is $250 whereas as new T7 valve is $45.
USBDM necessary for the ECU reflash is $50.
Time/effort to reflash yer ECU ?
MaX 15 mins actual time spent doing the reflash.
But you do need to get ecu out and beside your computer and ALSO solder in the required connector pins.. allow a couple of hours.
Plus a couple of hours dithering on 'whether you 'should' reflash :-).
T7 valve mod to the ECU ? another hour.. cut a wee Chip, trace solder in a wire jumper. Tell the ecu it's now running a T7 valve (check the box :-)
Then attaching only 2 of the wires on the BCV plug to the t7 valve.
IMO don't even think twice about it a No brainer.
Besides... the ECU reflash Alone is absolutely worth the effort, IMO it's THE best upgrade you could possibly do to your car.
Happy Modding
