ToddinMA,
The top part, (nozzles and electrical connector) is secured to the bottom part, (bowl and pump motor) with two thin metal straps. Pulling them outwards separates the two parts. See: http://townsendimports.com/Web/engine_folder/walbro.htm and
http://www.twinsaabs.com/9000/fuelpump/intro.asp?nsteps=3
By now you probably have figured out that you need to turn the pump about 30 to 90 degrees to position the float so the pump can be extracted. There is a raised mark on the top part that points towards the passenger side to ensure the float is correctly positioned at reinstallation.
Once removed and separated, use a razor knife to cut the existing fuel feed line at the uppermost, widest part of the three barbs. This allows you to push the freshly cut bellmouthed hose end over the NEW pump barb without resorting to clamps and a replacement line between the upper and lower parts.
