I agree, the bolts are designed to be stretched so much, at least enough for one 90 degree turn. Apparently some bolts can take 2 90 degree events. Unless you know which bolts will survive a second 90 degrees stretch, its best to get new bolts. Anders has a photo about the different bolts that have been used and some info about each one. If you look at the threads of a stretched bolt, the stretched area at the root of the thread is visible. Kind of scary, twist twice at your own risk. If you insist on retorguing, it maybe best to not do the full 90 degrees and stop when you feel the stretch start or step up on it like described in a previous post.
