As Simon said.
The 9-5 3.0t V6 from 1999-2003 (SEs then Arcs) was, AFAIK, the only car in the world to use this feature. There is a small turbocharger on the front bank of cylinders. The exhaust from the rear bank does not pass through the turbine at all, but goes on to the catalyst.
The compressor output is applied to all six cylinders. It's only used for light pressure turbocharging, nominally used to increase an engine's torque or to broaden the torque range. It wouldn't be appropriate for an all-out performance installation.
The 3.0 without the turbo in the 9000 was rated at 210 HP, the 3.0 in the 9-5 with the asymmetric turbocharging was rated at only 200. However, the V6 in the 9000 was rated to only 199 foot-lbs of torque at 3400 RPM, while the 9-5s was rated at 229 foot-lbs at 2500 RPM, and had a wider band where the max torque was available, up to 4000 RPM
