1985-1998 [Subscribe to Daily Digest] |
Hmmmmm?? I have no clue. I have part #'s somewhere...... [not the same as yours though] I'm only offering my experiences.
Everyone I've talked to seems to agree that you just never know with a Saab. Different people have suggested that all 94-98's were the same, v6, N/A, LPT and Aero's be them 5 speed or automatics but there's just no way. The guys at Empi had several different axle #'s and the hard parts to back up their claim, just nothing on a V6 car. Maybe it was an early on thing when they changed the body style or used the V6? Maybe I was lied to or misinformed? Maybe mine is a 1 of a kind special edition, LOL! All I know is I've got a '95 9000 CDE 3.0 V6 and automatic [from a '94 so I was told ~ and only '94 up will work I was also advised during this fiasco].
Anywho, the drivers side inner driver was messed up due to a failed tripod. I bought an axle per FP's advise to be correct [and they knew all details] and complete "spline to spline" but it was not as I now know, on these years the inner driver is seperate. So, in frustration, I sent it back and ordered a used axle assembly out of a 1995 9000CDE V6 w/ automatic and while complete [at my request] it was too short, damaged, in sad shape and I noticed the inner driver was bigger. So, I bought another good used complete axle assembly from a 1995 turbo car with automatic [since I was told they were the same] and it came with the smaller inner driver but again, an overall axle that was too short. I ended up using the smaller inner driver [which matched the original and the other side size] and ordered a new Empi axle. That axle came and was too long and had a different size tripod. Good grief, I got no where with Empi after numerous phone calls [don't get me wrong, these guys went 1000% out of their way ~ absolutely wonderful company] without options and no where else to turn so I went to the local Advanced Auto parts. They ordered in a Fenco reman axle and with sheer disbelief, it was the correct length and had the correct tripod on it!!!!!!!!!!
I'm ordering another one for next time :)
