I put a couple of Empi axles in a couple of years ago and was pretty disappointed that the boots were shot in about two years. While I change my hubs a few months ago, I replaced the boots.

I know people say you might as well replace the axles vs. the boots, it's really not that hard to replace the boots. Just pull off the tripod bearing on the inside end of the axle. Sometimes they just pull off and sometimes you need a puller. I would rather have a good OEM Saab axle with new boots, than some of the junk they are selling these days.
