defective thermostat - or something else? Posted by turbosaab [Email] (#9999) [Profile/Gallery] (more from turbosaab) on Tue, 6 Mar 2012 08:47:21 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Last fall I flushed the cooling system and replaced the thermostat (brand new Saab OEM from eEuroparts, made sure bleed hole was "up"). Since then, I get little to no heat when idling, and some heat when driving (but less than full output). I'm 99% sure it's not an ACC/flap issue, because for example if I am stopped and rev the engine for a min, I get a bit of heat. If I'm driving along and downshift a gear or two, I get more heat. I would suspect thermostat BUT - the temp gauge does not move (once warmed up, I it's around 8 o'clock regardless of whether I am getting heat). Air in system? Something else? Any feedback appreciated.
