I saw that $67 one Posted by JerseySaab [Email] (#666) [Profile/Gallery] (more from JerseySaab) on Sat, 19 May 2012 06:29:45 In Reply to: Re: Where did you get the condenser?, vtsnaab [Profile/Gallery] , Sat, 19 May 2012 05:50:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Thanks! I was wondering what the deal was since it was so much cheaper than the others, though $45 for something that basically "just fits" is pretty amazing! Maybe I'll contact them about that part number to see if they'll be getting more.
I'm still trying to get my ducks lined up in a row for this job, I'll want to take another look to make sure I'm not overlooking anything. Though it's hard to imagine anything but a failed compressor given the symptom of nearly no pumping action. (Maybe it's a valve problem since there's no evidence of trauma when spinning the compressor by hand.)
Replacing the compressor is the easy part, though, that's a $295 easy bolt-on for a rebuilt one, $365 for new. Expansion valve is easy as well. It's having to replace the condenser and drier that's the daunting part of the job. (I've done the drier before and that was nasty!) Any tips you can share on the condenser replacement?
