speed fan. The high speed fan should work even if the resistor is toast! In the low speed fan circuit, the resistor, which is in series with the fan, simply devides the voltage going to the fan, hence giving low speed operation. The high speed fan circuit connects the fan to the full 12 volts. Very briefly, some troubleshooting tips:
1.) First, check the fuses (fuse 2 for high speed, fuse 4 for low speed)
2.) Remove high speed relay and jumper 30 and 87 (refer to bottom of relay to see where 30 and 87 are on the socket). The fan should work. If not, the fan is either bad or the ground is not conducting (dirty).
3.) Put high speed relay back in and do the same with the low speed relay (remove it jumper 30 to 87). If the fan works, then the resistor is fine, if not the resistor is toast.
If the fan works in either of the above test, then it's safe to assume the fan is not being activated by the EDU. Since you have EDU related issues, then it's highly probable that your fan problem is related too. Most EDU problems are associated with the nearby grounding point on the bulkhead behind/below the left speaker. HTH
