I have tried the re-flowing trick on two control modules myself, unfortenately that didn't work.
So I went for the new-is-better than re-flow option and both boxes are working now. You definately can hear that the door motors have more power.
All has to do with resistance increasing in time, contact wear out, solder resistance increases etc.
I think my boxes having both 200k miles on the clock were just too far worn down to have the re-solder do the trick.
Cheers!
