"Slippin in 4th and intermittent hard shifting" sounds more like a bad clutch to me, exacerbated by the power of Maptun Stage 3. When these transmissions go, the usual failure point is the bearings and they will make a lot of noise in all gears - at least mine did.

When my trans self-destructed a few years ago, I was not ready to get rid of the car, so I found a good used transmission from a CS car (low-pressure turbo) - something to consider. While the trans was out, I had the slave rebuilt and a new clutch installed.
