New (very intersting) developement in overboost saga

The BPC valve that I removed from my car ('93 Aero) is working perfectly on my dads 98 CSE auto.I now know for a fact that the valve is totally fine. My dads CSE was stuck in base boost (boost needle would stop around mid yellow and hold there) and he replaced the bad bpc (could hear the broken disc pieces jingling around inside when he removed it) with the one that was "causing" my car to overboost and it works like a charm. Brings his boost up to the end of the dashed yellow and holds all the way through the rev range at WOT with no overboost at all. Either my wastegate setting for base boost is somehow way too high (currently boosting to 3/4 solid yellow with compressor direct to wastegate) or my ecu drivers are bad. I am confused though because it would seem that even if my base boost setting was too high at the wastegate that Trionic would still trim back my max boost setting? I think it has to be the ECU.
