In comparison to a OEM tensioner it appears that the hole for the spring retainer on the bolt was drilled too far up the bolt shaft allowing seepage under pressure. This is a fine example of poor quality of the aftermarket tensioner. Installed new tensioner and all is well....

Now on to the next geyser that pops up.
